Betty Marie (Haas) Onofrey -Madison Wi
Betty Marie (Haas) Onofrey, 64, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2023. Betty was born on December 23,1958 the daughter of Helene (Bladl) and Paul Haas and grew up in Plain WI attending St Luke school in Plain and graduated from River Valley High School.
Betty moved to Madison after high school and worked at St Mary's Hospital for many years where she earned the nickname "Red" due to her curly red hair. As a CNA she had a very caring manner helping her patients feel comfortable and well cared for.
Betty married Rick Onofrey on October 19, 2002 and they had many cat fur babies over the years. She was affectionately known as Aunt Beady to her many nieces and nephews and could be counted on to make them laugh with her great sense of humor. She loved taking walks, enjoyed her coffee and reading.
Betty is survived by her husband Rick, sisters Kathy (Gary) Hack, Karen Hilsenhoff (Tim Graham), Barb (Bruce) Rideout and brother Dan (Jan) Haas, sisters in law Kathleen (Bill) Talty, Diane (Tom) Schmitz and brothers in law James (Amy) Onofrey and Tom (Cindy) Onofrey, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, parents in law Richard R and Joanne M Onofrey, brother David and infant brother Dennis.
A celebration of life memorial is planned for a later date.
