Clifford O. "Cliffie" Bowers went to the Great Beyond on January 13th, 2021 at the age of 68.
Cliffie was welcomed into this world, to the outstretched arms of Clifford "Bud" and Patricia "Pat"
Bowers on March 25, 1952, already embracing the new adventure. Soon after brother Perry
trailed along, and a family was born.
Aptitude was always in attendance, as student, teacher and accomplished musician. Achieving
a bachelor of social work degree from the UW-Eau Claire.
With natural talents and outlook, he chartered Road Scholars, Inc. (Rhinelander), teaching skills
from amateur settings to the most renowned road courses in America. His upbeat ways of
encouragement to better oneself in life's journey was always present, while bringing his humor
and wit along for the ride. Listing all of his accolades would fill a book.
A man of humility and generous charming nature, he was held in high esteem by those who
knew him. His pride in others, love and kindness, and with powerful mind and stature, Cliffie met
all of life's challenges with steadfast courage and dignity, living life to its unbridled fullest.
You will be missed, old friend, and we will all meet again on a distant shore.

To all those who loved our “Uncle Cookie”, my heart is with you. Thank you, Uncle Cookie, for teaching me to be fearless on a snowmobile with open water “out there somewhere”, for teaching me to drive the boat to “Blur Valley” to pick up the family late night (I was 12+), for building the biggest and BEST bonfires, for being patient while I learned to slalom ski, for teaching me to “whip shitties” on the ice, and for all your terrible jokes that made my mother cringe. I am forever grateful for the memories on Sugar Camp. You hold a special place in my heart ❤️. Love, Megan
Dear Perry, nephew and cousin—We're thinking of you in your time of grief. Know that our love and admiration for Cliff is as great as that we hold for you . Cliffie was a gift to the world, one that will keep on giving. His ability to relate to and empathize with people of all walks gave him a magic touch that we feel, carry and will pass on.
