Carol G Proctor, 88, passed away October 23, 2014, at St Camillus, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. A native of Adams County, Iowa, and a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Nursing, Carol married Lester T Proctor, Jr, August 13, 1949. They lived in Des Moines, Iowa, Shorewood, Wisconsin, and Valparaiso, Indiana.
During their years in Milwaukee, Carol was an active volunteer at the museum. In Valparaiso, she volunteered at the Porter County Hospital and loved knitting hats for the babies at the hospital. Both Carol and Les delivered meals on wheels in Valparaiso. They loved to travel to Europe and throughout the US. Their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the proud recipients of many hand-knitted sweaters. The grandchildren particularly looked forward to fall, when they could stock up on Grandma's apple butter.
Les preceded her in death in 2005.
She is survived by four children, Carol (Rod) Turner, Ankeny, Iowa; Nancy Proctor, Glendale, Wisconsin; Lester III (Wendy) Proctor, Brookfield, Wisconsin; Meg (Dave Floran) Proctor, Vaparaiso, Indiana; 11 grandchildren, William (Cindy) and James (Carina) Turner; Kate, Lester IV, David (Jamie), and Becky Proctor; Patrick, Matthew, and Lauren Proctor-Brown; Brittan (Brad) Witzel, and Chelsea Schroeder; and four great-grandchildren: Leilani, Elizabeth, Rizalina, and Andrew Turner. She is also survived by a sister and brother. Seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
