William (Bill) Patterson, 63, of Madison, passed away at UW Hospital on Saturday, February 2, 2013.
He was born on December 29, 1949 in Rhinelander to Rosalie (Thrall) Rudolph and the late William Patterson.
Bill worked as a Computer Programmer/Analyst for the University of Wisconsin - Madison and Nakoma Capital Management.
Faith was an important part of Bill's life and he was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Madison.
Bill was an accomplished photographer and was a founding board member of the Center for Photography in Madison. He also was a founding board member for Dane Dances! and enjoyed photographing the events.
Bill spent much of his free time volunteering in the community. He was an active member of Capital Neighborhoods as the Education and City Issues Monitoring Chair. Bill was proud of his time as a coach for the Southside Raiders Youth Football team and enjoyed being referred to as Coach Bill.
Survivors include his mother, Rosalie Rudolph, Woodruff; brother, Donald (Linda) Patterson, Ringle; two sisters, Susan (Jeremy Ness) Rudolph, Seymour, and Kathy (Chris) Briquelet, Iola; special friend Margarita Burns, Madison,; and seven nieces and nephews, Amanda, Matthew, and Ashley Patterson, Abbie and Emilie Briquelet, and Maggie and Grayson Ness.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Ivan Rudolph and aunt, Jean Kosky.
Services will be held at noon on Tuesday February 12, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2019 Fisher St., Madison WI 53713. The Rev. Richard Jones will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Informed Choice Funeral Home, Madison is assisting the family with arrangements.
