William Essick Kaeser

October 23, 1939 — June 3, 2022

William Essick Kaeser, 82, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Waunakee, WI on June 3, 2022.

William was born on October 23, 1939, to William V. Kaeser and Marion Evans Kaeser. He graduated from West High School and attended The University of Wisconsin and The San Francisco Art Institute; however, his curiosity and unquenchable thirst for knowledge lasted a lifetime. His professions included commercial pilot, flight instructor, glider pilot, instructor of photography, and truck driver.

William saw life as a great adventure and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was a voracious reader and his many passions over the years included architecture, photography, art history and travel. An avid outdoorsman, he was a fisherman, backpacker, skier, scuba diver, sailor, and hunter. He traveled extensively visiting countries in Europe, Asia, South America, Canada, and the United States. William was a kind, big-hearted and truly unique soul. He touched many lives, and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by Mary Jo Norgaren; step-children, Shay E. Park, Davis, CA, Garrett Gracner (Bridget), Madison, WI, and Andy Gracner, Madison, WI; grandchildren, Kieran Barger, Makayla Barger, Finn Gracner, Isabella Novak, and Veronica Novak; niece, Anabel Manchester Lopez, Boise, ID, and nephew Morgan Manchester (Deb) Collegeville, PA, as well as many cousins and dear friends.

William was preceded in death by his sister, Julianne Kaeser Manchester; his brother, Frederick T. Kaeser, and his parents.

A celebration of life will be held in William's honor at a later date.
