Theresa Ann Johnson

November 2, 1955 — January 23, 2013

McFarland - "Theresa A. Johnson, 57, of McFarland, died Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 in her home surrounded by her friends and family. She was born November 2nd, 1955 in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of Ann and Phillip Johnson.

She spent most of her life employed as a nurse, wholly engaged in the care of others and found her particular calling in service of the elderly. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, walking, travelling, and spending time with her children. She had an eye for design and art and spent countless years decorating her home as a beautiful reflection of herself and her family.

Terry was an adventurous and loving spirit throughout her life and all those who knew her were familiar with her endless compassion and support, especially her children. She was fond of all things Irish and was especially proud of her Irish heritage, holding citizenship both in the United States and Ireland. Terry was most at home near the ocean and other places of natural beauty where she could be surrounded by animals and plant life.

Terry was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She is survived by her husband Paul Nelson, her three children, Colin Nelson, Bridget Crean-Williams, and Sophie Bebeau, her three brothers, Phillip, Peter, and Tim Johnson, her cat, Smokey II, and many loving extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother and father.

Per Terry's wishes a memorial gathering will be held at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, with details to be announced in the springtime.

Memorials may be made to Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Planned Parenthood, the MS Society, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Public Broadcasting Service.
