MADISON-Stanley A. Reinke, age 97, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 3, 2018. He was born on Nov. 12, 1920, in Springfield Corners, WI, the son of Herbert and Minnie (Brockman) Reinke. He served in the Army Air Force as an airplane mechanic during WWII. While Stanley was home on leave from the service, he was united in marriage to Vilma Davis on Dec. 12, 1945, in Sun Prairie. Together they raised seven children. He worked at Ohio Medical Corporation from 1946 until his retirement. He was a great gardener and was very proud of his huge weed-less garden. Stanley was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Vilma; children, Stan, Darrell "Pete" (Diane), Carol (Chris) Gillman, Jim (Terri), Donna MacMillan, Cindy (Fred) Ammerman, and Mari Reinke; 14 grandchildren: Steven (Randi), Cathy (Darren) Reinke, Marc (Rhonda), Kate (Tyler) Judd, Wesley (Lauden) Gillman, Sarah (Chris) Reinke, Matt, Ian MacMillan, Laura (Neil) Vellema, Andrew MacMillan, Nick (Beth) Wieczorek, and Lynn (James) Haasch; 19 great-grandchildren: Jordon, Alia, Serena, Alyssa, Dylan, Shelby, Maddy, Samuel, Jose, Emily, Maggie, Henry, Sadie, Eli, Tyler, Kaitlyn Heidi, Trevor, and Joey; as well as a sister-in-law, Marjorie Reinke Rietveld. He was preceded in death by his brother, Russell and grandsons, Stanley and Scott Reinke.
A Celebration of Stanley's Life with remembrances will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 East Washington Ave., Madison, at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 11, 2018. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
