Shirley Grace Behm

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Grace (Miller) Behm age 93, on December 28, 2024, peacefully at home.

Shirley was born on May 3, 1931, to William and Elizabeth (Paar) Miller, in Marshall. Shirley graduated from Marshall High School in 1949. She married Kenneth Jerome Behm at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newville on May 27, 1950. They made their home on the old Behm family homestead on Kroghville Road.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. Gardening was her passion. Numerous people would stop when she was outside and tell her how beautiful her flowers were. If she wasn't in her garden, you could find her reading, quilting, or, doing any of the many crafts she enjoyed.

Shirley will always be remembered for being soft spoken, sweet, and stubborn. She was compassionate and loving. Her faith was strong throughout her whole life. When something would get difficult, she would say pray, talk to God, and put it in his hands. She was one in a million, God broke the mold when he made her.

She is survived by daughter Nancy (Phil) Dodge, Marshall. Grandchildren, Joy Lynch, Marshall. Erin (Aaron) Hunt, Cottage Grove. Matthew (Melissa) Lynch, Italy Texas. Great grandchildren, Blake Hunt, Oregon. Brayden Lynch, Nova and Jordan Thompson, Italy Texas. Sister Doris Hoard, Marshall, brother Russell Miller, Waunakee. She is further survived by other extended family.

She was preceded in death by Her parents, her husband Kenneth, son Allan, daughter Mary, sister Alice and daughter-in-law Caroline Behm.

Our gratitude and appreciation go out to the Agrace Hospice care team professionals who were so kind, compassionate, and supportive, not only to Shirley, but for Nancy and Joy also.

We also want to thank Pastor Andrew Meyer of St. Paul's for his home visits to give sermons and communion.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 21, 2024. Friends and family are invited to the visitation 4pm to 6pm, followed by a service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 204 Deerfield Road Marshall WI. The burial will take place at another time.
