Sharon Louise (Callahan) Fassbender - Waterloo
Sharon Louise (Callahan) Fassbender (aka Grandma Sharon), 72 , passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, at home, surrounded by her family.
Sharon was born in Madison on January 18, 1943. She provided loving child care in her home for many years.
She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and many other children from the surrounding area. She loved spending time with family and friends. She particularly enjoyed her Harley rides. Sharon was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshall. She was also a charter member of the Waterloo VFW Auxiliary.
Sharon is survived by her children, Dale (Bobbi) Riddle of Sun Prairie, Dawn (Terry) Fillner of Waterloo, Donna (Larry) Hisel of Lake Mills, Dennis (Rhonda Caraballo) Kolowinski of Waterloo, her adopted daughter Keri (Michael) Radloff of Waterloo; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by Donald Kolowinski (father of her children), her parents, one sister and one great-grandson.
A memorial and celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 6 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshall with Rev. Paul G. Anderson officiating.
Relatives and friends may gather at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials to the church or Rainbow Hospice are appreciated.
The family would like to thank Pastor Paul Anderson, Karen Bolden (nurse), the rest of the staff at Rainbow Hospice and Informed Choice Funeral & Cremation Alternatives for the compassionate care provided for Sharon and the family. The family would also like to thank the countless family and friends that helped Sharon throughout her life.
