Ruth Hole Bossert, 94, passed away Tuesday, May 9th at the Agrace Hospice & Palliative Care Center in Madison, Wisconsin.
Born on November 13th, 1922 in Union Township, Illinois, Ruth was the daughter of Anna Barbara Eggenberger Hole and Frederick Harrison Hole. Ruth grew up on her family's farm in Livingston County, Illinois.
Ruth married Clifford Bossert on October 18th, 1941 and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage together before his death in August 2012. Ruth and Cliff spent most of their lives together living in Morris, Illinois, prior to moving to Madison, Wisconsin in 2004.
Ruth and Cliff were longstanding, active members of the First United Methodist Church of Morris. Ruth shared her time as a regular volunteer at the Morris Hospital as well as elsewhere in the community. After they moved to Capitol Lakes in Madison, Ruth enjoyed making new friends and getting involved in activities in her new community.
Always involved in a variety of crafts and artistic endeavors, Ruth was talented and creative. She enjoyed conversation and playing bridge with friends and loved spending time with family. Ruth was open minded, accepting, and quite a lot of fun! She loved bird watching and had a rare talent for spotting wild turkeys.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cliff; daughter, Barbara; infant son, Charles Allen; and sister, Lorraine.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Ellen White (Eric Sutter); her grandchildren, Jennifer Banks (George), Anna Jones (Robert Houston), and John Ekholm (Sumi Mukoyama); her great grandchildren, Eve Houston and Sheryl (Kirk) Lester; and their children: Claire, Charles and Charlotte Lester.
Ruth's family would like to thank the staff of Capitol Lakes, Attic Angels, and Agrace Hospice & Palliative Care in Madison, Wisconsin for the excellent care they provided to Ruth. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Patti Glasz, Ruth's caregiver since 2015, for the exceptional care and companionship that she provided.
A memorial service will be held in Madison, Wisconsin at the Capitol Lakes Great Hall at 1:30 pm on Friday July 7th.
