Ronaldo Luigi Parisi hung up his gloves on July 9th, 2014. He lived his life to the fullest and his legacy endures in the love that he shared with so many people in his time on this earth.
He was born to Charles Savarino Parisi and Mary Ellen Sansone Parisi on January 6, 1953. He is survived by his wife of 35 years,Terry Parisi Parisi; his three children, Savarino (Sarah) Parisi, Franco Parisi, and Elena Parisi; his grandson Henry Ronaldo Parisi; his siblings Carrie (Todd) Knutson, Carlo Parisi and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ronaldo graduated from Madison West high school in 1971 and worked as a maintenance technician at the UW Hospital until completing the MATC nursing program in 1994. Nursing became his passion and he worked for Central Wisconsin Center, Dungarvin, CCLS, and Community Living Alliance. He loved working for adults with developmental disabilities and caring for them in the comfort of their own homes. He built strong lasting relationships with his patients and his colleagues.
Ron was a man of faith and community. He served as the head elder in the Madison Community SDA church, was proud of his Italian heritage, and cherished connections to the Greenbush Neighborhood. He was a leader of the Madison SDA Pathfinder "troop" and a longtime supporter of the Stoughton Area Youth Soccer Association. Ronaldo had a gift for bringing people together and building life-long relationships. He had an open door policy for all people, and was always ready to lend a helping hand with just the right amount of humor to make everyone laugh.
Ron loved spending time with his family; hiking, camping, fishing, working on the family farm and taking cross-country road trips. He was a collector of souvenirs, whether they be from his back packing trip across Europe or his many "good will hunting" expeditions to the local thrift shops. Ronaldo was always on the look out for that special gift which reminded him of someone that he cared for.
He was a man of many passions and great creativity. He was a lifelong Packer fan, avid moviegoer, and music lover. Ron was a self taught artist whose work was displayed at the UW Hospital. He was never afraid to bite off more than he could chew, always certain that it would work out in the end. Ronaldo's optimism inspired everyone he met along his journey.
Please join us to celebrate Ronaldo's life on Sunday, July 13th at the Madison Community Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1926 Elka Lane in Madison. Greet his family between 3-4pm with a celebration program starting at 4pm.
