Robert Edwin Sater

WAUNAKEE - Robert E Sater "Bob", age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 19, 2017 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, with his daughter and caregiver for the past five years, Connie, by his side. Bob was born on March 4, 1925 in Madison, WI and was the son of Melvin H and Idell Sater.
He met the love of his life in Madison, June Sorg, they married at the Blackhawk Church in Blackhawk in 1952 and lived in the Nakoma neighborhood in Madison where they raised three daughters, and later moved to Waunakee in their retirement years. He attended West High in Madison and worked for 33 years at Borden's Dairy. After retiring from Borden's he had his own home repair and remodeling business for many years and was always in demand. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, woodworking, coin collecting and casino trips with his beloved wife, June. They did everything together and he was lost without her.
Bob is survived by his three daughters Connie Femrite, Janet Boswell, and Cindy (Harvey) Johnson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Lindsay, Larry, Stephanie, Leslie, Sarah, Michelle, Adam, Dan and eleven great grandchildren with another on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife June, his parents, a brother Melvin, nephews Robert, Billy and James.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church, 701 S Century Ave in Waunakee with Pastor Doug Locken officiating, and a private interment at a later date. Special thanks to neighbors Dick and Karen Marx for all that they've done over the years, Pastor Doug for his visits, Candice Duffek of the Waunakee Senior Center for all the help, support and advice with his care, and to all at Agrace Hospice that took such great care of him. A special thanks to "Angel Angie" for her exceptional caring and compassion for Dad.
In lieu of flowers, a fund is being established for a memorial in his name, or please consider a donation to the Peace Lutheran Church in Waunakee, or the Waunakee Senior Center, or Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg in his memory.
