Robert Burns

Robert (Bob) Burns, 62, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday December 17th. He was born in Chicago, IL on April 18, 1951 to Robert and Ursula (Denison) Burns. He married his high school sweetheart, Susan Bielby in 1976 and lived in Firestone, Colorado before settling in Cambridge, Wisconsin. Bob served in the Navy from 1969 to 1973. During this time he served as an EDJ Aircraft Mechanic on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga, and also as a crew chief on helicopters involved in air to sea rescue and submarine hunting in the Tonkin Gulf during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Bob was an avid photographer, and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He always made sure that the best time was enjoyed by all.

Bob is survived by his wife Sue and two daughters: Becca (Ryan) Madden of Lake Mills, Wisconsin and Jessica (Dan) Hughes of Sullivan, Wisconsin, his parents Robert and Ursula (Denison) Burns. Two sisters. Cheryl Paulsen, Sue (Brian) LaCerda. He also is survived by three grandchildren: Chloe Madden, Emma Madden, and Nola Hughes and many loving nieces nephews and inlaws.

Military Service and Internment will be held on Friday, January 10th 2014 promptly at 11:00 am to 11:30 am at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. 217131 Spring Street, Union Grove WI, 53182. (262)878-5660.
