Rhonda Gaudreau (née Hershey), age 64, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, in the comfort of her home in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.
Rhonda was born in Queens, New York on May 23, 1960. She was later raised in the Bronx and then in Bergen County, New Jersey. Rhonda’s intellectual prowess led her to graduate high school early and attend Vassar College at age 17, earning her undergraduate degree in Political Science. She later received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from New York University. Her passion for healthcare and desire to help those in need led her to start her own company, Theracore Management Group, LLC., which has been in operation for over 20 years.
Rhonda married Bill Snellings, and they had two children, Douglas and Elizabeth. The family relocated to Madison, Wisconsin in 1996. Although Bill and Rhonda eventually divorced, they remained good friends. In 2007, Rhonda met her soulmate, Mark Gaudreau. The two married shortly after and shared over 16 years of happiness and love until her passing.
Those who knew Rhonda were touched by her selfless compassion, warm personality, and incredible humor. Her laugh was as contagious as her love. She adored every pet she’d ever had, especially her two dogs, Baloo and Shanti. Above all else, Rhonda loved watching her family grow and playing an active part in their lives, whether it was creating a new holiday tradition or enjoying a family vacation to the beach.
Rhonda is survived by her husband Mark Gaudreau; brother Mitchell Hershey; children Douglas (Tahnee) Snellings, Elizabeth Snellings, Mark Jr. (Amber) Gaudreau, and Matt (Renée) Gaudreau; grandchildren Kendall, Dillon, William, Hayden, Isabelle, Brynley, and Mila. She is preceded in death by her mother Enid Hershey (née Librot) and father Robert Hershey.
Rhonda’s family has chosen to honor her with a private gathering. They also want to extend their sincere gratitude to Gilda’s Club, Dr. Lisa Barroilhet, and the UW Carbone Center team for their care and involvement in Rhonda’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rhonda’s honor to Ma, Paws, & Me Pet Rescue, whose mission was near and dear to her heart.
