Phyllis M. Dvorak, age 82, of Cottage Grove (formerly of Wausau), passed away on April 8, 2018, from natural causes at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living. She was born on November 28, 1935, and grew up in Pike Lake, Wisconsin, the daughter of Phillip Budnik and Theresa Budnik (Janikowski). She married Dennis Dvorak in August, 1954, and they had four children together: Sue, Mary, Lisa, and Phillip.
Phyllis was a certified nursing assistant in Wausau for many years where she enjoyed socializing with residents and doing their hair. Her hobbies included listening to public radio, cooking, and gardening. Phyllis loved spending time with her family and would light up when her two great-granddaughters would visit. She lived life on her own terms and fought to maintain her independence right up until she passed away.
Phyllis is survived by her three children, Mary Dibble (Nic) of Stoughton, Lisa Dvorak (Brian Lynaugh) of Folsom CA, and Phil Dvorak (Yumi) of San Jose CA; grandchildren, Eve Christoffersen (Eric) of Waunakee, Andy Dibble of Madison, and Brianna and Allison Lynaugh of California; great-grandchildren, Lily and Emma Christoffersen; sister, Rita Borchardt (John) of Schofield; and son-in-law, Jon Brenard (Sue) of Portland OR.
Phyllis was preceded in death by Dennis (husband), Phillip and Theresa (parents), and Sue Brenard (daughter).
A private family gathering will be held at a later date and her ashes will be spread in some of her favorite places.
