Patricia K Mcgee

Patricia "Kay" McGee passed away on July 1, 2015 in Madison, Wisconsin at age 77. She was born on January 7, 1938 in Forest City, Iowa, the daughter of Frances and Louis Klise. Kay graduated from the Villa de Chantal High School in Rock Island, Illinois. In 1956, she married Jerry McGee, with whom she had two sons, Flynn and Colin. Kay received her Bachelor's Degree in American Institutions from the UW-Madison in 1974. She went on to become a Nursing Home Administrator and worked in the field of long-term care until 1985. In 1987, Kay earned a Master's Degree in Continuing and Vocational Education at the UW-Madison and went on to work as a job counselor and program manager, specifically helping disadvantaged workers start health care careers. Kay is survived by her son, Colin, of Oregon, WI, her twin brother, Patrick, of Long Lake, MN., her brother, Nicholas, of Red Lion, PA., and her sister, Bethany, of Daytona Beach, FL. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Laura Zweep, of Stoughton, and her grandchildren, Ryan, Katelin, and Michael McGee. Kay was preceded in death by her son, Flynn, and her loving husband, Jerry. Kay is grateful for the love and support she received from her extended family, her friends in the community, all of her AA friends, her wonderful neighbors, Agrace HospiceCare and especially her partner, Earl German. There will be a drop in open house from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at her home to celebrate Kay's life on Saturday, July 11, 2015.
