Mary Jo White passed away on July 7, 2015 at age 63. She was born on May 1, 1952 in Appleton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Francis and Elaine Weeks. Mary Jo graduated from Kaukauna High School (WI) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a major in linguistics. In 1974 she married Doug White, with whom she had two daughters, Melanie and Alanna, and a son, Adam.
Mary Jo's career was as a loving, devoted daughter, mother, spouse, and later grandmother. She provided full-time care to her young children, and helped her mother through 20 years of health care. Mary Jo supported Doug in many ways including a very intense year of health care and recovery. She also worked part time in customer service and later as office manager for the Madison 56'ers Soccer Club. In addition to spending time with her family, Mary Jo loved language and was an avid reader, media viewer, and puzzler. She shared her great sense of humor and political insights with many friends.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband Doug White, of Madison, WI; daughter Melanie White, of Chicago, IL; daughter Alanna Humphrey and granddaughter Elodie Humphrey, of New Brighton, MN; and son Adam White and grandson Henry White of Livermore, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
