MADISON - Mary D. Clark, age 93, of Madison passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 25, 1921 in Sugar Camp Lake, Wisconsin, the daughter of Mary and Edward Carpenter. She was united in marriage to Donald L. Clark on January 14, 1942 for 48 years prior to his death in 1990.
Mary was employed at U.W. Hospital for 14 years as a Dietician Aid before retiring in 1973. She worked as a volunteer for the East Madison-Monona Coalition and for the Meals on Wheels program. Her laughter, kind words and little holiday gifts were looked forward to and were always received with a smile. (You brightened every life you touched.)
Her favorite pastimes included golf, she even got a hole in one earning her a trophy, reading, playing cards, writing in her journal, traveling, being with her dogs Teddy and CC, and helping others in need. She was warm, sensitive and caring to other people and to animals. She was always there for her friends and family with a smile, a care package or just a shoulder to lean on when needed.
Survivors include her children, Donna (Nick) of Arizona; Judy (Ronald) of Indiana; Sue (Dale) of Wisconsin; Michael (Barb) of Wisconsin, and Vicki (David) of Wisconsin; as well as eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; Mary and Edward Carpenter; her husband, Donald L. Clark; three sisters, Florence, Grace, and Alice; one brother, Edward Jr.; and one grandchild, James Edward Emerson.
She leaves us with a lot of wonderful memories and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
We love you Mom, and will miss your wonderful meals, your hugs, and your laughter. We will always remember you standing in the window blowing a kiss and waving good bye. We will miss our chats, luncheons, and the laughter we shared. You were our best friend and though our hearts break we will always thank God for allowing us these many years of joy and sunshine you brought into our lives.
Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation for the staff at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison for the loving care they provided to Mom and our family. And, thank you to Informed Choice Funerals for their services.
A private family service will be held this spring in LaCrosse, Wisconsin where Mom will be buried next to Dad. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mary's Care Center, Sun Prairie Public Library, or Dane Co. Humane Society would be appreciated.
