Martha Vincent, 95, passed away peacefully at Agrace HospiceCare on Thursday, October 16th after a brief illness.
Martha was born in Cambria, WI. in 1918 to the late Gustave and Minnie (Renn) Hein.
She married Louis D. Vincent Jr., June 7, 1947 in Cambria. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. Her husband, Louis, preceded her in death in 1998.
Martha was a stay-at-home mom until all three children were in school. Then she worked part-time in the Madison school system as a teacher's assistant for sixteen years at Lapham and Marquette Elementary.
She loved reading good novels, playing cards, and watching sports on TV, especially the Packers and the Badgers.
Martha is a long-standing member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gawthrop of Deer AR., two sons, Don (Patty) of Madison and Dennis (Kay) of Deforest; grandsons Tyrone (Cara) Baker, Jason (Megan) Vincent, and Wade Vincent; great-granddaughter Giuliana Baker, brother Eugene (Charlie) (Veryl) Hein , sisters-in-law Gladys Hein and Shirley Hein and numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her only sister Dorothy (Dwight) Greenwood of Dallas TX, brothers Edwin Hein (Ruth) of Cambria, William Hein of Cambria, Walter (Betty) of Shawano, David of Sparta, MO, Alvin (Dorothy) of San Antonio, TX, Herman of Cambria, WI, and grandson Jacob Baker of Deer, AR.
The memorial service will be held on Monday October 20th at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church., 322 E. Washington Ave. in Madison. The visitation begins at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Agrace Hospice Care.
