Madison - Linda S. VandenBerg, age 60, died on January 8, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg of ovarian cancer.
Linda was born on October 12, 1952 to Herman and Hazel VandenBerg. She attended schools in Brookings, Platte and Winner, SD, graduating from Winner High School in 1970. She graduated with a B.A. from the University of Sioux Falls in 1974 and an M.A. from Western Michigan University in 1975.
Linda worked as a rehabilitation counselor for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in Eau Claire from 1975-1977, then as a disability analyst for the Disability Determination Bureau in Madison from 1977-2007. She retired in October 2007. In July 2009, Linda was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, but continued to live a full life.
Linda is survived by her mother, Hazel VandenBerg of Sioux Falls, SD and many beloved cousins and so many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 3:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 203 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison WI with Rev. Tina Lang officiating. Those wishing to offer memorial contributions may consider the following charities (or one of your choice): Madison Public Library Foundation, Agrace HospiceCare Inc., First United Methodist Church Foundation or Gilda's Club.
