Kevin R. Canfield

Kevin Raymond Canfield died peacefully on December 12, 2023 at the VA Hospital after losing his battle with cancer.  Kevin was born in and grew up in Milwaukee.  Service in the Air Force took Kevin to Florida and Idaho before returning to Milwaukee and settling in Madison. 

Kevin is survived by his parents Edna (Rogahn) Canfield and Stephen Canfield; daughter Sasha Christianson; grandchildren Tynan (Keira) Sullivan and Cooper, Raven, and Revel Christianson; siblings Jeffrey (Sandra) Canfield and Susan Winer and; his ex-wife Doreen Ragon. 

Kevin’s love of motorcycles began in his teens and spanned his lifetime.  Kevin owned many bikes over the years, sometimes having a couple bikes at once to choose from.  He treasured each bike and loved riding, before cancer necessitated him to stop.  Kevin was also a lifelong Green Bay Packers and Brewers fan. 

Kevin had a good heart and will be remembered as a loving, caring person who helped his parents, family, and friends.  Kevin cared for his aging mother and made weekly calls to his father.  He kept his father updated on UW sports, his activities, trips to the VA, and the Madison weather.  He never missed a call until his cancer diagnosis.  He also checked in regularly with family in South Dakota with calls and texts. 

Kevin’s wishes were there be no services.  In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association or DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
