BARABOO - Keith J. Anderson passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on July 4, 2014.
Keith was born to August and Clara (Kleppe) Anderson near Bemidji, Minn. After serving with the 2nd Marine Division in the South Pacific, he attended Bemidji State Teachers College. There he met and married Virginia L. Cross of Minneapolis on June 29, 1946. In 1952, they moved to Baraboo, Wis.
He was a regional sales representative for most of his life. First with Waterman-Waterbury Furnace Co. and lastly with the Cornelius Co., where he became a member of the 2 Million Dollar Club.
Keith was known for his gift of gab, heartfelt opinions, off-the-wall humor, volunteerism, and "can-do" attitude. He was the first recipient of the Baraboo Federal Community Volunteer Award for his work with the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, and "Odyssey of the Mind", along with numerous other organizations and activities. He was also a longtime member of the Optimist Club and recently the Baraboo Marine Legion.
Keith is survived by his wife, Virginia and children, Lynne Weborg and Craig (Karen) Anderson, all of Madison; grandchildren, Luke (Tierney) Anderson, Matthew (Alison) Anderson, and Justin (Cynthia) Weborg; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Ardythe (Cliff) Lingle. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith "Scott"; and daughter, Wendy.
A memorial service will be held at the FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH in Baraboo, at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014. Donations can be made in his name to the Salvation Army.
