Karen Rude-Evans

Karen Rude-Evans, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2022.

Karen was born in Washington D.C. on March 5, 1957 to Eric and Nancy Rude.

Karen spent her early years moving between many states before settling down in Madison. She graduated from West High School in 1975 and went on to become a licensed cosmetologist. After school, she worked for the UW Hospital for many years and eventually transitioned into a role with the Department of Regulation and Licensing with the state of Wisconsin before retirement.

Karen had a love of animals, especially Shetland Sheepdogs, and cared for many throughout her life. She enjoyed spending her free time around animals as much as she could. She also enjoyed traveling, having taken trips through Southern France and down the Rhine River.

In her later years, she enjoyed retirement by spending time with friends and working part time as a Food Products Demonstrator for Kwik Trip.

Karen is survived by her two brothers, Jon (Becky) Rude of Verona and Mark (Patricia) Rude of Watertown; and her two children, Erica (Nick) Evans of Denver, Colorado; and John Evans of Madison.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Erica Christine Rude.
