Joseph George Gilligan

Joseph George Gilligan, 94, of Madison, died June 4, 2022. He was born in 1927 in Laona, Wisconsin. His wife, Idella (Kitchenmaster), preceded him in death. Joe is survived by his five children: Colleen (Dave), Dawn (Murray), Kevin, Sheila (Jim), Jodell; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Joe served in the Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Topeka and attended many reunions with his shipmates. He retired from Kayser Ford after 42 years in automotive parts. Joe loved to garden, camp, walk, and the Green Bay Packers. We, Joe's children, thank Dad for his love and support and for instilling in us a love of nature and a solid work ethic.

Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, 3054 Highway BB, Madison, WI. There will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations/tributes/memorials to the Alzheimer's Association (world) www.alz.org/ or Agrace www.agrace.org/donate/donate-today/?refer=71

The wonderful staff of Agrace Hospice supported Joe and our family through the final months of his life. We will always be grateful for their kindness and compassion.
