Madison - John M. Schroeder aka Dr John , age 89, died peacefully at Capital Lakes Health Center in Madison, WI on October 12, 2012. He was born on June 2, 1923 in Racine WI and moved to Madison to attend UW Madison earning several degrees including his medical degree. He did medical research, taught and practiced medicine for over 50 years.
He was an active member of St Lukes Episcopal Church in Madison serving the parish in many capacities as well as the Diocese of Milwaukee and attending national conventions. He was also involved in the camp owned by the Diocese of Milwaukee, Camp Webb in Wautoma WI.
He was active in the Boy Scouts as a youth and throughout his lifetime. He was involved in Camp Freeland Leslie in St Charles IL as well as other camps in Wisconsin, including the YMCA Camp Anokijig in Plymouth WI.
He served on the Board of Trustees for Nashotah House Seminary in Nashotah WI for many years.
He was also involved in other organizations involving trains, professional organizations and the ham radio organization Central Wisconsin Repeater Association.

A memorial service will be held at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, 4011 Major Ave, Madison WI 53716 on October 27, 2012 with visitation at 10am and service at 11am. Luncheon to follow in Parish Hall.
John lived his faith through all that he did for the many people's lives he touched and organizations he served.
