Joann Lee Golz

DeForest- JoAnn Lee Golz (nèe Anderson), age 87, died on November 29, 2014. Born at home in Minneapolis on November 20, 1927 to Earl and Cecile "Babe" Anderson. Graduated from Lawrence University in 1949. She was a past president of the Wisconsin Association of Hospital Volunteer Service Directors and served on the membership committee of the National Association.

She married the love of her life, Gordon Golz, on September 3, 1949, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. Also survived by four children; Kristine Gay (Barry Kerr), Randall (Sherry), Lawrence (Heidi), and Kurt (Joan) Golz. Ten grandchildren; Joe Peterson, Dawn (Jay) Layman, Kahla Bunde, Marissa Renee, Karli Egener, Stephanie McDonald (Chris), David (Olivia) Peterson, Rebecca Golz, Cory (Melissa) Golz, Clifton Golz, and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and only sibling, Joyce Ascher, and her parents-in-law Norman and Esther Golz.

A memorial service will be held at Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, 702 North St., Sun Prairie, WI 53590, on Friday December 12, 2014, Visitation 10:00, Service at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Methodist Committee on Relief, Agrace Hospice or Carbone Cancer Center, or a charity of your choice.
