Jo Ann Banks
ARENA - JoAnn Banks (Ulrich), age 65, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, Wisconsin after a long and gallant battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Ulrich and two siblings, Elizabeth Burack and Paul Ulrich.
JoAnn was born September 17, 1947 in Madison, Wisconsin to Wilbert and Ruth Ulrich. She graduated from Lafollete High School in 1964 and later earned degrees in Commercial Arts and Electronics at MATC. In April of 1985, she started working at the University of Wisconsin Space Science and Engineering Center. She retired from SSEC on August 24, 2012 after working there for over 27 years.
She was survived by her mother, Ruth; children, Laura Nelson, Tammy (Carl) Gillam and Jeff (Lauren)Banks; grandchildren Branden Roberge, Andrew (Maganna) Gillam, Bernadette Gillam, Cole Wenger, Kathleen Gillam, Casey Gillam, Christian Banks, and Drew Banks; great-grandchildren Carlissa Gillam, Anaii Gillam, Logan Burdick, Amelia Gillam, several nieces, nephews and close friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday October 4 from 3:00pm - 4:00 pm with an open house from 4:00pm - 6:00 pm at the Wisconsin Union South, Industry Room, 1308 Dayton Street, Madison Wisconsin 53715.
