Jackie J.(Ross) Wallace went home to be with Jesus on May 25, 2017, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI., after a long and brave battle with lung disease.
She was born December 31, 1947 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin to Dale & June (Eberdt) Ross. The family lived in Tomah at the time and moved several times before settling in 1955 in Oregon, WI. Jackie was a member of the Class of 1966 of Oregon High School, attended U.W. Oshkosh, later transferring to U.W. Madison, receiving her Bachelor of Science (Art) degree later completed herMaster in Finance. In 1969 she married Jim Wallace and sons Jamie (1973) & Matt (1975) were born. She became a Loan Officer for First Federal Savings & Loan, helping many achieve their dreams. She fought and overcame many battles in her life, crediting her faith in Christ. Jackie had many friends and was a prolific student, studying everything that took her interest, including the stock market. The absolute pride in her life besides her faith was her 10 grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Jamie (Michelle) Wallace of Columbus, WI and Matt (Jamie) Wallace of Stoughton, WI, grandchildren (Jamie) Caitlyn, Jake, Ben, Will & Grace and (Matt) Weston, Brielle, Nolan & Avenley. She is further survived by brother Steve (Liz) Ross of Gypsum, Colorado, and sister Su (Nick) DaWalt of Tomahawk, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents Dale (2006) & June (2014) Ross, granddaughter Nevaeh Rae Wallace (2009), and friend Tom Kresl (1999).
Jackie was very proud of Nevaeh's life & the Milwaukee Childrens' Hospital Playroom of Hope for siblings of sick children, that Nevaeh's parents raised the many dollars needed to build in Nevaeh's memory.
The family would like to thank all of Jackie's faithful friends, her City Church home group, the staff at Meriter Hospital & Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg for their loving care.A Memorial Service will be held at City Church, 4909 E. Buckeye Rd, Madison, Wednesday, May 31, with visitation at 6 p.m. and service at 7 p.m. She will be buried in a small family gathering at Highland Memory Gardens, 3054 Co. Rd BB, Madison, WI.
In Lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made in Jackie's name to the family.
