Madison - Isobel Anne Marvin, age 80, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at home with her family in Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge. She was born on May 2, 1936 in Highland Park, Michigan, the daughter of John and Alice Mathieson, who immigrated to the United States from Scotland. She married Eugene Lawrence Marvin on August 17, 1957 in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Isobel graduated from the University of Michigan in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Isobel and Eugene raised two children and have lived in seven different states in their marriage spanning the United States from Grantham, New Hampshire to Sequim, Washington. Isobel loved to play bridge, golf and read, and had a passion for birds and gardening. She is survived by her husband, Eugene, and her sons Charles Marvin of Madison and James (Michelle) Marvin of Evanston, Illinois and her four grandchildren Kate, Julia, Ben and Genevieve Marvin. A celebration of Isobel's life will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Tree of Life Chapel at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge in Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her honor to Oakwood Foundation or Agrace Hospice Care.
