Grace M. Porter

Grace M. Porter, age 88, passed away on September 12, 2013 in Madison with her family at her side.

Grace was born in Port Washington, WI, and attended the UW majoring in Economics. She worked at both Oscar Mayer and Wisconsin Auto and Truck Dealers Association over the years.

Grace enjoyed reading, keeping a spotless house and playing bridge with her girlfriends. She was a loving mother to her three children and a wonderful wife to her husband, Len.

Grace is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leonard, her three sons Steve Porter of Madison, Bob (Nancy) Porter of Madison and Tim Porter of Phoenix AZ, and six grandchildren, Lindsay, Brady, Ashley, Alicia, Christine and Justin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Kathleen Schuknecht and Shirley Dunn.

A celebration mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 Sherman Avenue on Monday at 3 pm. A private family burial will be held in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Grace's name to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank the staff of Sylvan Crossings and Agrace Hospice for their assistance.
