MADISON - Gordon Henry Pollick, Jr. of Madison, age 71, passed away on Sept. 8, 2016, at the VA Hospital, Madison, WI.
Gordon was born in San Francisco, CA on Oct. 10, 1944 to Josephine and Gordon Pollick, and graduated Cupertino High School, Cupertino, CA, 1962. He did active military service in Berlin, Germany from 1963-1965.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Gordon Pollick, and a son, Gordon H. Pollick II. Gordon was married to Laura W. Pollick (Madison) for 30 years. He is survived by their two children, William Dane Pollick (31-Madison), and Sierra Knight Pollick (26-Madison), and a grandson, William (Liam) Grady (6-Madison) of whom his world centered on. He is also survived by his two sisters, Dolores Murray (Gene Murray, Oroville, CA), and Peggy Downing (Steve Downing, Reno, NV), as well as his niece Michelle and her son Kyle (Folsom, CA), and nephew Danny Murray (Oroville, CA). Gordon also had two children from a previous marriage, Ashleigh and Jacob.
Gordon's love of motorcycles he inherited from his father. No Harleys please, too slow for Gordon. He was an excellent shot at the pool table. He enjoyed photography, and had a wonderful eye for that as well. He was a wicked cribbage player, loved poker and blackjack. He enjoyed fishing and was planning a boat purchase this coming spring to teach Liam how to fish.
Gordon worked hard to provide for his family. He and Laura met in Truckee, CA, in 1981 and were married June 4, 1983. They moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1984. Gordon started Go-Poll Painting, a painting contracting company which he successfully owned and operated for several years. Because of a health condition, he then went on to work for Home Depot (Madison-West and Roseville, CA) in 2004.
