MADISON--Jerry Padgham, age 85, passed away on Sept. 6, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare due to lung cancer. He was born Jan. 6, 1932, to Ivy and L.J. Padgham in Madison, Wis. Jerry graduated with the class of 1950 from Madison West. After serving in Korea with the U.S. Army, he attended UW-Whitewater. In 1955, he married June Hendrickson from Eau Claire and they enjoyed 62 years together. Their life centered around their four children, Jim, Julie (Tim Tofte), Jon (Jane Kelly), Joe (Kerri Kujak). How he loved and praised his six grandchildren, Stephanie (Nico Lopez) and Tricia Tofte, Kelsey and Ryan Padgham, Beatrice and Clara Padgham. He is also survived by his brother, Jack of Madison, Wis., and Bette Hendrickson of Bismarck, N.D. There are many loved nieces and nephews who he truly enjoyed spending time with and watching them grow. For 42 years Jerry worked at Padgham Paint Company. Beginning as an apprentice and ending as the president. Many friends were made throughout the state as he became involved in the PDCA--as a member and state president. As a member of the West Side Lions Club he was a true believer in the Lions motto, "We Serve." He went on two missions to Mexico with school supplies, vehicles, and eyeglasses. A cottage in Manitowish Waters was the place the family would play and relax. Here is Jerry's summary of his life in his words: "Great wife--Great kids--Amazing grandkids--Traveled the world--Relaxed in Manitowish Waters--Enjoyed good friends." There will be a visitation Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, with visitation one hour before. Lunch will follow. The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Agrace HospiceCare.
