Donald Jay Behnke

November 3, 1943 — February 16, 2022

Don passed away into the arms of Our Lord on February 16, 2022, after fighting his long battle against Parkinson's Disease with dignity and grace. He was born to Walter and Lucille (Jamison) Behnke on November 3, 1943, in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

Don's story is that of a good, honest, hardworking man. His kindness touched many people along the way. His positive, patient outlook on life along with a contagious laugh gave strength to his family and friends.

He loved his family above all else and enjoyed finding a good challenge throughout his career. He was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. He was involved with many of his children's activities as they were growing up.

Honorable and true, Don served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam war and led a life of patriotism.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary; their children James Behnke of Taunton, MA, Susan Hammill (Michael) of Flemington, NJ, Christopher (Alixandra) Behnke of Austin, TX. He has one brother, Richard (Mary) Behnke of Lake Jackson, TX, two granddaughters, Lydia and Audrey Hammill, and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the many people who have given Don exceptional care and love:
