Diane Louise Hinterberg

SUN PRAIRIE - Diane Louise Hinterberg passed away on January 6, 2024, in Madison, WI, with loved ones at her side.

Diane was born to Pat and Leo Heinzelmann on November 3, 1953, in Waukesha, WI, and grew up in Pewaukee, WI. Diane had a lifelong love of music, reading, good food, and beloved pets. She shared all of these loves with her daughter, Katherine, who cared for her in her final years. Diane especially enjoyed living close with her grandsons during that time. She was outgoing and always ready to make a new friend or strike up a conversation.

She spent more than 40 years working in the banking industry, and took great pride in building relationships with her clients.

She is survived by her former spouse, Neil Hinterberg; and their daughter, Katherine (Tony) Schmitt; grandsons: Shaun and Henry Schmitt; sister, Sue (Jim) Baumann; and sister-in-law, Sandy Heinzelmann. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Barry Heinzelmann.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Informed Choice Funeral and Cremation Alternatives, 3325 E Washington Ave, Madison, WI.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Diane's name to Wisconsin Public Radio, Friends of Wisconsin Public Television, or Dane County Humane Society.
