David B Barlow

MADISON - David Bruce Barlow, age 62, a Madison firefighter for over 20 years, died Oct. 4, 2015, of neuroendocrine cancer, which was diagnosed last January. He remained optimistic throughout his short battle and faced his untimely death with amazing dignity.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Darlyne; and brother, Russell. He is survived by father, John (Vera); sisters, April and Jill; brothers, Gregory Scott (Terry), John L, Todd, Troy (Dorene), Daniel, Malcolm Johnson (Miriam), and Jahi Smith; his dogs, Dexter and Diamond; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. at MOUNT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH, Madison. In lieu of flowers, Dave requested donations be made to the Dane County Humane Society. His family wishes to thank all of his friends including his extended family of Madison firefighters that supported him these past nine months, Dr. Rob Hegeman and his team, and Agrace HospiceCare.
