Darline Mae Butler, born on April 13, 1934, died on December 31st, 2022
Darline was an extraordinary lady who loved life! Loved her husband Rudy of 65yrs, her 5 Children, her Siblings, & ALL her Family & Friends!
She had fostered 45 children, (many with special needs). She adopted 2 babies as her own. (she absolutely loved babies)...
She was a natural care giver. She enjoyed taking care of her grand kids as well, every chance she could. She worked as a CNA until she retired at 79 y/o.
Their home in Stoughton, Wi was the hub of the neighborhood. She welcomed everyone as family. She loved cooking for large groups of family, & friends.
She loved holidays. especially Christmas. Darline did a lot of crafts, loved Country Gospel, Polka music, movies, adult coloring, and staying in touch on Facebook.
They moved to Ely, MN. when Rudy retired. Darline continued caring for her famliy, & Rudy when his health was declining. She was working & enjoying life.
She loved it up north! She had a fondness for the land, wildlife, & the American Indian way of life. She collected dolls, Angel dolls, Indian and
Wildlife memorabilia.
In 2013 they moved in with their son Bill, and wife Lori. Rudy passed away in 2014. They moved to the Dells in 2019, she said she always wanted to live
in the woods. Until her health failed she took a lot of car rides, saw the bluffs, & nature.
She is survived by her Brother Sonny Swangstu, sister, Liz Dollar; son's Bill, and David Butler, daughter's Sue Lundstrom, and Moneac Butler,
daughter-in-law, Carol Butler,(Son Rudy's wife), and many extended family members who will all miss her very much.
Our thanks go out to Agrace Hospice & their staff for the many years of care, compassion, & support for Darline.
