"Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.
See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth, the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land. Arise, come my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me." Song of Songs 2:10-13
Our sweet Colleen left her Early Onset Alzheimer's ridden body behind, April 12, 2022. She is safely in the arms of her Abba, where we are certain she is experiencing love beyond her imagination, where she feels safer than she has ever felt and where she is finally, mercifully at peace.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents James and Theresa, her brothers Michael and Thomas. She is survived by her sister Mary and brother Andrew, nephews; Branden, Robert and Travis, nieces; Jamilla, Alanna and Marley, grandnieces; Saynna, Eliana, Valentina and Willow and a grandnephew; Graham.
Colleen's journey through the last several years was difficult but her sweet core, full of love, hugs, and laughter never left her. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the love, support, encouragement, prayers and care from family, extended family, friends and caregivers at her Betty's Harbor memory care unit.
In lieu of a memorial service or flowers, please consider a contribution in Colleen's name to The Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, 6314 Odana Rd. Suite 4, Madison, WI 53719. Their website is Alzwisc.org. The ADAW was so helpful in Colleen's early years of her Alzheimer's battle in finding resources. You may also consider a contribution to Hospice Agrace, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.
We would like to extend a special thank you to our "medical nerd team", you know who you are, and to William Wall who has known Colleen and been a brother-in-love to her since she was 17. He has been her fiercest protector and advocate. Through her illness he has been a trusted advisor, researcher, chauffeur and through the most difficult last 14 days of her life, at her bedside every day, talking to her, holding her hand, reassuring, comforting, calming and praying for her. His unconditional love for us all is what has carried us through this journey.
