CINDY AURA WARK FOY
Cindy, age 61, passed away at home on March 13, 2015. She was born on February 14, 1954 of Tom and Millie Wark in Cortez, Colorado. She completed elementary school in Cortez and later graduated Grand Junction High School in 1972. That same year she married her sweetheart Gerald (Gary) Foy. Two children were born from this union; Justin in 1973 and Allison in 1976.
Cindy, Gary and family resided in Grand Junction Colorado, Arvada Colorado, Hutchinson Kansas, Searcy Arkansas, Deland Florida, Grapevine Texas and Madison Wisconsin. Cindy spent over 30 years in the orthodontic and dental fields and felt blessed in having lived and worked in so many homes as she met many great people and created lifelong friends along the way.
Cindy was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in October 2001 and subsequently fought this and other medical challenges for over 13 years, battling it dauntlessly never complaining, always inquiring how others were. With Gary, her lifelong love, continually by her side, she fought the complications of radiation, chemotherapy, drugs and surgeries, and four years ago, a stem cell transplant by younger sister donor Jill. She kept her loving spirit, not wanting to be a burden to anyone. Up to the last few days, asking about others in the family not focusing on her personal fight. We bare a huge hole in our family's heart and yet, we as a family were totally blessed to have had our Cindy in our lives.
She is survived by her adoring husband Gary, her children Justin, his spouse Holly, Allison and her partner Charles; grandchildren Makalah, Ashley, Logan and Jaley all in Colorado. Cindy was the beloved sister of Ann Ainsworth, Vicki Tucker, Jeanie Meek, and Jill Marvin. She is also survived and loved by Gary's parents, Reta and Edgar Foy, brother and sister in-laws Ed and Carol Foy, Lonnie and Wynn Wilson, Aleta and Dan Parrott along with many nieces and nephews and her mother Millie.
Cindy was the epitome of grace, courage and with all of her health conditions she maintained her faith and wonderful sense of humor.
Our Valentine angel--she was sweet and sassy, courageous and classy! A teenage "statement" before her time, with short, short skirts and spiked hair and lots of eye makeup: she drove her dad nuts! Yet, she was so accomplished and talented, helped manage a fabric store while still in her teens. Her "mercy" spirit fit well in her professional life as dental assistant and she excelled at that for many years. An adoring wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, her sense of humor was matter-of-fact: you always knew how our Cindy felt and how she felt about you. What you saw in her, is what you definitely got! An angel with a truck driver's mouth on occasion, yet, she did it with such pizzazz!!
Our hearts are heavy, but we are assured her spirit is with the Lord and someday we'll have a wonderful family reunion, in the sweet by and by!
Her final resting place is being lovingly managed by Informed Choice of Madison Wisconsin and she will receive final resting in Grand Junction Colorado on August 30th, surrounded by friends and family in her celebration of life.
If you find it in your hearts to celebrate with us, please in lieu of flowers, make a donation to the University of Wisconsin Hospital Transplant Program in her name. Thank you for the many doctors and nurses who have supported and cared for Cindy over the many years. May God Bless!
