Charles Warren Mabra

FITCHBURG - Charles W. Mabra, age 72, born March 14, 1944, passed away at home on Aug. 13, 2016, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; six children, Monte Mabra (Regina), Monica Marks (Donald), Tamika Ellefson (Duane), Andrea Swanson (Greg), Keysha Mabra, Jonathan Mabra; three brothers, Paul Mabra (Penny), Edward "Eddie" Llewellyn (Nerva), Timothy Llewellyn; two sisters, Marilyn "Bonnie" Pollard, Myrna Smith; 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Kokomo, Ind., Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in Tachikawa, Japan, in the early 1960s. He retired from his nearly 30-year career at National Electrostatic Corp in December 2015. Since retirement he enjoyed a quiet life of tinkering with various home projects, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joy was in Christian fellowship, reading the scriptures and spreading the message of God's love and salvation in hopes that all would come to know Christ as he did.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. at BLACKHAWK EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 9620 Brader Way, Middleton, WI 53562 (in the fireside room). A greeting time with the family will begin at 1 p.m. Light refreshments following the service. Flowers are welcome.
