Betty Jean Thomure

Betty J. Thomure, Age 87 of Madison WI, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the UW Hospital.
Betty was born on June 15, 1929 to Elvie and Viola (Kahl) Polkinghorn. She grew-up in the Marquette/Williamson Street Neighborhood and graduated from Madison Central High School in 1949.
Betty worked many years for Block's Cleaners. She then worked for the UW Physical Plant, where she retired after 20+ years.
During her early years of retirement she and George enjoyed camping at their trailer on the Rock River. She also enjoyed reading, doing puzzle books, gardening, and making numerous baby blankets for family & friends, and spending time with her beagles.
Betty was a special aunt and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Elaine M. Parker, her significant other George Clayton and a nephew Danny L. Parker.
A private family internment will be held at a later date.
