Madison - Arline J. Granberg, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. She was born on October 12, 1934, in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Orville (Bud) and Hilda Wibe.
Arline graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles CA June 19, 1952 and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs May 21, 1985 with a BS degree in Business. She worked for 3M Company in St. Paul, MN as a Cost Accountant, and the Colorado Department of Revenue in Colorado Springs, CO as a Tax Accountant. Arline was a devout Christian who always put others first. This was true not only for family, but for friends and community alike. She enjoyed fellowship and music at ORUCC of Madison, WI and was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Colorado Springs, CO. In addition, Arline loved to read, travel internationally, vacation in Door Country WI, spend time with her children and grandchildren, and support organizations such as Sierra Club, local food pantries, church and anyone in need.
She is survived by her three children, Michael (Donnita) Granberg of Topeka, KS, Kathleen (Michael) Walker of Fitchburg, WI, and Carl (Cindy Ranfranz) Granberg of Rochester, MN, her four grandchildren, Curtis (Shannon Donahue) Granberg of Milwaukee, WI, Scott Walker of Chicago, IL, Alyssa (Dan) Nathan of Asheville, NC, and Elizabeth Granberg of Baltimore, MD, and one "great grandchild" Evelyn Donahue. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Rod and Roger.
Arline will be lovingly remembered for her sharp wit, love for puzzles and word games, glowing smile and contagious laugh, and love for family. Her life was a gift of grace, joy, hope and faith. She lives in our hearts forever.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Our family is deeply grateful for the love, respect, and care that the entire staff at Agrace Hospice provided Arline.
